Ed Schramm, National Advertising Sales Manager

Technical Analysis of STOCKS & COMMODITIES

Hi! Welcome to my Web page!

    What I Do . . .
As National Advertising Sales Manager for STOCKS & COMMODITIES, I have to ensure that each issue of the magazine has the proper quality and quantity of advertising. The Advertising Department tries to make sure that we solicit ads from companies with products that our readers find interesting as well as useful. We also try to ensure that each issue has a certain amount of advertising to guarantee that the magazine will remain a consistent size.

    How I Do It . . .
Much like the advertising department of any other periodical publication, the ad department of STOCKS & COMMODITIES follows a specific procedure in a never-ending cycle. Each issue, we confirm with both existing and new advertisers which ads they want to run. If the advertiser needs help in creating an ad, we design and produce anything from a classified to a full-page four-color ad for them. At the end of our department's cycle is our deadline day, when we have to be sure that all ads have arrived and are in proper camera-ready form. That's the point at which Advertising Production Coordinator Karen Moore gets together with Art Director Christine Morrison to lay out the magazine. That's also when I start working on the next issue.

    Who I Am . . .
I've been working at Technical Analysis, Inc., since 1992. Previously, I worked on the East Coast, mostly in New York City. For seven years, I sold an institutional equity research service to money managers nationwide. This gave me the opportunity to see much of the United States -- but unfortunately, most of what I saw was the downtown business sections of cities and not the outlying areas where much of the country's beauty is. Some of my earlier experience was in the commodity futures arena, where I held positions such as margin department manager, trading desk supervisor and even a short stint as a broker.

E-mail me at eschramm@traders.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
